২০১৪ সালের ৭ ডিসেম্বর স্বপ্নের পদ্মা সেতুর নির্মাণ কাজ শুরু হয়। অতঃপর নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ হয় ২০২২ সালের ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর। স্বপ্নের পদ্মা সেতুর মাধ্যমে মুন্সিগঞ্জের লৌহজংয়ের সাথে শরীয়তপুর ও মাদারীপুর জেলা যুক্ত হয়েছে। স্বপ্নের পদ্মা সেতুর পিলার সংখ্যা 42 টি এবং স্প্যান সংখ্যা 41 টি।
